Flying photos...let's see yours!

I took a few photos from Wednesday evening that I thought looked cool. The plane is performing well and I only have a few hours left to burn off in phase 1.

Garmin Pilot ADS-B weather tracking the rain cell...at first glance it looks like an EF-5 tornado. Thankfully for those on the ground it was just a passing shower.

My first 3.2 hour flight using the aux tank along with a full main tank. Performed flawlessly. 127TAS at 5.5gph...no reason to go fast when there is not much space to go.

Sunset approaching...time to setup for downwind to keep compliant with Phase 1.

Topped off both tanks so I'm ready for my next flight...so close to spreading my wings beyond the 40nm.

Alas, I don't have a flying photo from my still under construction Waiex. But here's one from my previous homebuilt:

No FARs were harmed in the creation of this picture.

So you made it to Austrailia. Cool! Which aux fuel setup did you use?

Bryan, I don't think he made it to Australia. I'm afraid you're looking at things the wrong way. Here's how I look at the world.

So how are things going down North?

Darn! Another part of my childhood stripped away. Just don't go telling me Pluto is not a planet. Otherwise, things are well down here, Peter.

I don't have any Sonex flying pictures but I will try and get back on topic. Proof I used to fly, looking forward to finishing and flying again.

Mike,
It is a Schweizer 2-33. If you are viewing on your phone, photobucket cuts off most of the picture if it is bigger than 640 by 480.

Kevin,
Cool picture. Do you have a twin?

Nope. That was just a friend from Slovenia who said "hey, I heard you had a plane if you ever need ballast I'd love to go with." The funny thing is that I had assumed he knew we would be doing aerobatics. So I gave him the talk on the ground 'wear this chute... you almost certainly won't need it, but here's how to use it if you do... we'll go out and start slow and at any point it feels uncomfortable/nausea we'll mellow things out and head back'. We go fly, he has a great time. We come back and he says "wow - I had no idea we'd be doing aerobatics - I just thought that when you handed me the chute and gave that talk that the US was really strict." video of that flight

I can't wait to finish my Waiex to get back flying, though alas aerobatics will be almost single pilot only for weight reasons - such is life :) ...
