After 4 1/2 years of building, Sonex 1517 became N1517S today.
I had the DuPage FSDO inspect the airplane, and I have to say it was a pleasure to work with them. It was less than two weeks after I submitted the paperwork to the inspection.
Look for a complete report in the next issue of the Sonex Builders and Pilots Foundation newsletter!

Jake - I fly it when it's ready and the weather permits.
For all the knocks the FAA gets I have to say the DuPage FSDO was very easy and quick. A mistake was in my operating limitations and before i got home from the airport, revised operating limitations had been emailed to me.
Congrats!!! Can't wait to see a picture of that Sonex grin! You will love the turbo, first flight with all that performance you wont knock the smile off your face for a month.
Congratulations!! I look forward to reading all about. Also look forward to hearing about your first flight when it happens. Take your time and enjoy it, you have earned it!

Congratulations on successful inspection, but not sure if any home built aircraft is ever 100% done, always something to improve or update.
