Great weekend.If your thinking of going ,do it. I sat in both the Onex tail dragger and the Tri -gear and :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D Yeah it felt that good.
The Monnet family from John and Jeremy to the entire staff are an enthusiastic bunch of great people and I left feeling totally confident of their commitment to my needs as a builder.The best $200 spent that I got back + the $75 tail kit crating fee plus a $400 workshop discount if you then order a complete airframe kit or the $1000 "kit with options" workshop discount if you order your airframe kit with both pre-assembled main wing spar and machined angle component kit.I will post more pics at my web site.

I will recommend the Super 8 at the field for $161 for three nights if you book in advance.The Sonex home is 4 minutes away.

I am with you 100 percent on the workshop Mike. It was great meeting everyone. The Sonex family is first class. On my drive home, 19 1/2 hours straight through, I had lots of time to think about the Onex. I haven't dismissed it yet. It is the plane I want to build. I am going to check out the offerings at the Copperstate fly-in at the end of the month but there just isn't anything out there that offers the bang for the buck found with the Onex. If I can think of a way to make it fit I will reorder the tail kit. Good luck with your build Mike and keep us posted on your progress.

It was a pleasure meeting you Dan and I hope you find a way to make the Onex fit.One thought I had would see you cutting 2 scallops in the panel just above your knees and then adding a center panel maybe 8 inches wide up near where it would attach to the panel and tapering to maybe 4 inches at the floor.This would make up for what you lose cutting the panel to make adequate room for your knees.Other than that I'm sure Jeremy would have other ideas.Good luck.

They already have both taildragger and tricycle factory Onex planes? Cool, I thought they only had the tailwheel prototype built.

It went through FAA 51% rule certification about 2 weeks ago.Looks pretty good with the Sub Sonex in the background.
