Hi Guys,

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I'm having issues with the laptop in the house. It's old (Windows 7), its slow, and it only has 4 G of memory. Some of the editors are not compatible, and the ones that are are painfully slow. I have a new (Windows 11) in the shop that is at least 10 time faster and has 16 G of memory. However, I don't have internet in the shop and my phone has limited hot spot data per month.

So..., I'll drag the desktop pc from the shop in tomorrow and load all of the programs y'all suggested and see if I can figure this out. I also ordered a mic so maybe I can figure out how to voice over the video clips.

I'm starting to understand that there is no silver bullet here. I'm just going to have to jump in and figure it out.

Thanks Again,

Wes

Hi Guys,

I downloaded KDENLIVE and Openshot. I played around with each and think I'll try KDENLIVE first.

So Bryan, a question. Is there a preferred frame rate for a project?

Thanks,

Thanks,

I just let it default. Anywhere around 30 is fine, especially at our level of video production.

Edit: you could really speed up that old Win7 laptop by installing Ubuntu on it! Go Linux!

Yeah, I know I should switch. I am a big fan of Linux and the FSF. There just always seems to be something more important for me to focus on.
