Sonex low approach at ORD - Chicago O’Hare

Postby Sonex1517 » Mon May 11, 2020 12:02 pm

It never hurts to ask and you can’t if you don’t try....

I politely asked Chicago approach this morning for a low approach only into ORD. Chicago O’Hare. They said yes and I got 28C.

I did it!

Working on the GoPro video. I will post the link when it’s done.

Hi robbie,
very cool! You may have some dreams tonite of call signs like speedbird, cactus, or clipper..........
maybe with heavy thrown in at the end.........
i flew navajo’s and aztecs in there in the late 70’s.

Very cool... Reminds me of the times we took a Sonerai into O’Hare for an open house, A cub into Midway And the Sonerai 1 Into Arlington Park racetrack all... with a handheld radio!

That was an AWESOME video Robbie! Also great job staying fast, if there's one thing I remember about ORD it's that they wanted best practical speed. The controllers will remember it for awhile, you'll remember it for a lifetime =D
