Very cool Bryan! That's a rental? I don't think I've ever seen a Cessna 140 as a rental!! What do you think of it?
I have no doubt the Waiex will be a lot easier to fly than the Cessna! I'm sure the Cessna is fun though! You obviously won't need it, but get all the tailwheel time you can! 25 hours of TW time will make insurance much easier to get for the Waiex.

The 140 is a good airplane. I flew one back in NY and was restoring it. It was a chapter project. When I had to move I was separated from the project. It would have been a good choice to buy a 140 instead of the Waiex kit on the one hand - for about half the money I could have a flying airplane. But, I like to build, I want to build with my kids, I don't have an A&P rating (yet), I want something a little sportier, faster, and I want to do a little acro. I like the 140 because it is harder to do a nice job on the landings compared to the piper taildraggers. I hit 25 hours of TW time a couple hours after my first solo back in 1990, so I am good there. C120/140's are good. They are not light sport, which has been a bummer for those who lose the medical.
