Tracy O'Brien brake parts?

Postby 984dm » Mon Jan 14, 2019 5:49 pm

For those of you who have used Tracy O'Brien brake parts: where did you get your parts for the brake system? I'm specifically looking for a source for the brass ferrules and tightening nuts.

Thanks,

John, while we are on the subject, any idea what is going on with Tracy O’Brien? The website is a mess, are they still in business do you happen to know?

Thanks, Gordon

Thanks, Gordon

They checked out last year for about 3 months. Wouldn't take any orders, then came back. I ordered replacement seals and a set of pads, got them no problem. I think its a side business for them and they may be focused on other priorities.

Hi all,
Yes they seem to take a sabbatical each spring for a few months. Nice people. Nice quality stuff.
Give them a few months if you can. They’ll be back.

Thanks guys. I’ll hang tight.

John, you have their gear legs don’t you? Are you happy with them? As I recall they offered the leg with the axle already welded on? Is that what you have?

Tracy lives about an hour from my place and I have been to his shop. He and his wife head to California I think to escape the rainy Pacific Northwest winter rains for a few months. I have his brakes and wheels-quality sealed wheel bearings and the brakes don't squeal. He will be back
