We wish you all the best, John! I wonder if I can talk my wife into letting me own an aircraft company!?

Equally important is the announcement that the company is for sale. The only constant in life is change. I hope all works out for the best for John, Betty, and all at Sonex.

John,
Thank you for designing my perfect airplane. I had given up on finding an affordable aircraft that I could build and fly cross country until I saw the Sonex at Oshkosh. I dismissed it at first until I did some more research — you weren’t using marketing hype when you said it was the best performance per dollar. I never imagined that I would be able to do all of the cool things that I have done with the aircraft nor did I realize that I would become friends with so many great people. All of this because of you and your dedication to keeping it simple and affordable. I flew it to Alaska last year and had the trip of a life time. You created an awesome aircraft that has enabled us light sport flyers to fulfill our dreams. You changed my life and you left a lasting legacy in the aviation world.

You’ve worked hard and you definitely deserve a great retirement. (Let’s hope you know how to relax better than Burt does!)

See you around,

Blue Skies - Jim Hicke

My thanks to you too John! I too did a bit of research prior to buying plans for scratch buiding, and found that set you and the folks at Sonex have done are far and away the best and most detailed ones I have see! My best to you in retirement, and as my dad told me for many years before my retirement,"Wear out...dont rust out!"(meaning, stay busy with something you like) and that had spurred me to the purchase of the plans! Lastly, thanks for the great 'Sonex Smile " in all the adds, because now I to have one of my very own! My best wished to you and Betty!
