I don't have an answer for you regarding the trailer, sorry.........however I DO have a question for you. I saw on the Sonex site you made your first flight and really liked the Onex as to the handling etc. Then I saw it advertised on Barnstormers for sale. The question is........why sell it so quickly? Is there something undesirable about the Onex the rest of us should know about? I am in the last stages of my Onex build. Just a curious Onex builder. Onex 0024 with a 2400 Hummel.

I always thought a bender-up horse trailer would make a great enclose trailer for a onex. They are an aluminum frame with a fiberglass shell so they are very light. Most have a fold down ramp as well. Probably too expensive new but you may be able to find a used one locally.

Nothing wrong with the Onex flies great.
My goal was to finish the project get the airworthy paperwork done and test fly it,
I had a lot of fun building it and test fly it
Now that I achieved my goal I’d like to go back to a champ

Nothing wrong with the Onex is the answer I was hoping for.
I am getting near the end of my "Onex build".
I sold my RV-6 many years ago (450 hours) and sold my RV-7 two years ago (200 hours). Nothing wrong with those airplanes either.........just wanted to build again and this time try a different design.
This will likely be my last "build" as I am 72.

So what does that have to do with looking for a
Trailer. You know every time you start a post the meaning of the post gets
Put aside and the conversation goes elsewhere

If you are not opposed to an open trailer search for builder Igsievila posts in Jan 2017. He modified a boat trailer to haul his Onex. If you are inclined you could build an enclosure for it.

For you Gordon, I started my Onex when I was I was 74, 6 years ago and got the AW certif8cate Sept. 28. My third build and probably my last.

Dan, don’t get upset with idle airplane chatter.

I have made a few improvements since the original set up on the trailer. I mounted a better quality scissor jack in the center of the ramp so I don't have to go back and forth to raise/lower the ramp. It takes less than ten minutes to get my Onex on the trailer and then another fifteen to tie it down. I do not trailer back and forth to the airport but it is nice to be able to take my plane home to my heated shop if I want to do some work in the winter. I am only 25 minutes from my home airport on the back roads so if the hangar rent gets too expensive I will trailer from home. I can do about 35 mph with wings folded up and braced with ailerons secured. Original YouTube video below.

Danny seems a bit iritated about the posts going "off topic" regarding him finding a trailer to move the Onex to Florida. If it was me, I would forget the expense of buying a trailer and just fly it to Florida although at this time of year that may be a challenge.

As far as a trailer goes, the converted boat trailer works well like Loren's, although I would be wanting an enclosed trailer for that long ride to Florida.........just saying.

I might be trailering it to Florida from ny I did not put heat in the Onex
Can you enclose a boat trailer?
