piano hinge hieroglyphics

Nowhere, that I can find, on page WIX-F11 or the firewall page, are the dimensions for the piano hinge (cowling mount) that rivets to the bottom of said firewall. It is referenced as a P-04-08 hinge half. Went to page P-04 only to find the same reference (-08).
Looking at the gaggle of hinge lengths for various installations, the -08 is called out for only the Jabiru engines. A VW is in our future. Still.......why do they call for an 08 on apparently all airframes on pg. F-11? I see a lot of pictures that show this hinge installed.........so someone has obviously broken the code.
Any info is good info.

You are right. But by looking at the drawing and counting the male and female ,you can figure out the dimensions. I believe it is 12.5".

There are two "Detail D's" on WIX-P04, one for Jabiru cowing, one for the Aerovee/Universal cowling. On the Aerovee cowling, it calls out an -06 hinge half. In the top left corner, you see the long list of hinge half bubbles below the hinge drawing, and above the hinge is the list of dimensions. the -06 hinge is 7 1/2" long, and the -08 hinge half is 12 1/2" long.
