Colorado Mountain Travelog

Postby fastj22 » Sun Sep 28, 2014 10:52 am

The aspens are in full autumn bloom. My wife and I participated in the Colorado Pilots Association pilgrimage to Leadville, CO to view the colors.
Its long but Enjoy.

I tried watching but got a YouTube error saying "Video Not Available." I'll try again later...

They flagged it with copyrighted music. In the process of removing it. Anyone know how to include music without running into this?

Its back up without music. Really lowers the experience. I'd really like to know how you guys get around the copyright stuff when posting videos.

Did a flyby of the Pikes Peak Summit on father's day. Summit house just off the wing @ 14,110 ft. DA was showing 16,500ft. Took me two laps to get enough altitude. Good ridge lift off the south slope, but barely able to maintain altitude on the north side. Wind was showing out of the south at 20 knots.

Depending on the artist YouTube may allow the music. They sometimes add an advertisement that links to how to buy the music online. Other times they just note that the video is not viewable in some foreign countries. I don't know that there is any way to know for sure. Lately I have been grabbing music from various FREE royalty-free web sites. At takes a bit of hunting and sampling, but if you keep at it you can build up a small library.

I used music for the most recent YouTube video we posted for the foundation after extensive research - there are websites that allow you to download their music and provide credit to the source and use it for free.

Mike Niedenthal and I flew from KFLY to KANK for a breakfast flying. We were the bells of the ball. Lots of interest in the Sonex.
Here's a clip I took on my cell phone on the way back.

So the colors are in full bloom in the Rockies. Flew Sunday to do a lap of Pikes Peak to take them in.
Enjoy. No music, can't figure out how to get past the copyright cops. I topped out at 14,500ft to clear the summit. Got some nice ridge lift on the final pass. Had to really come down fast (2000ft/min). KCOS class C airspace is about 10 miles east and the base is 8500ft. Ears were popping ducking down under it.
