How much current does your alternator put out?

Ignition only.
I have the 20 amp alternator.

A little progress on the fuel vent/door and the new canopy latch, plus registration. https://eaabuilderslog.org/?blproject&proj=7fZQxebwn

Getting "Time In Type" continues to be a problem. A recent trip from California to Missouri in hopes of getting transition training did not pan out. And my present weight (230# in street clothes) limits who is willing to fly with me. So I started Noom and I will get below 200. And I extracted contact information for every Sonex/Waiex in California from the FAA registration database.

More progress, revised the brakes https://eaabuilderslog.org/?s=wlawrence
If you have a Legacy Sonex with mechanical brakes, work on improving them before going hydraulic. I tacked 50 grit sandpaper inside the drums of the Azusas on my Sonerai and slowly tightened them while spinning the tires, to get full contact between the drums and the shoes. A previous builder put a section of hard line adjacent the brakes, for heat resistance, which added a bunch of fittings to leak air. Plus, the garden sprayer turned pressure bleeder I borrowed aerates the fluid. We had a devil of a time bleeding the brakes when this was a Chapter project and had toe brakes. Air got in somehow after the clare shield was riveted down, which I didn't discover till I pulled the tank to re-route the throttle.

Got the engine running for the first time since I took over the project.
Curtis Valve on the gascolator leaked so bad it was leaning out the carb, which I've been tweaking per Jeff Schultz's suggestions http://www.sonex604.com/aerocarb_thoughts.html
Finally got the brakes bled, and they work GREAT. I love the parking brake valve.
Just like the previous toilers on this project, I could NOT get the magnetron ignition to work, and I'm pulling it off to replace it with a Simple Digital System Coil Pack ignition. I've started to work up the bracketry I'll need to mount the Hall Effect sensors for the crank trigger. I've been planning this since BEFORE I bought the project, but wanted to give the Magnetrons ONE MORE CHANCE, and they failed.
Progress and pictures at http://eaabuilderslog.org/?s=wlawrence
The FAA paperwork for Certification is mocked up, but I'm waiting to get my medical Special Issuance back before I fire it off, plus I need to finish the Weight and Balance, so inspection and first flight are looking like September/October of this year.

Sorry to hear of your magnetron trouble. Mine have been great! Super simple system.
