Nose gear boot

Any suggestions on what type of material or fabric to make the boot out of?

Craig,

I followed the plans, and made a boot out of the pattern on the drawings, with fiberglass cloth, impregnated with RTV. It took a few tries since the cloth stretched once you begin applying RTV. It seems to work fine.

I've seen a few others purchase a replacement Cessna style nose wheel steering rod boot and trim to fit.

Thanks for the picture Scott. I just couldn't get the idea of RTV rubbed into the cloth the plans called for. Now it makes total sense!
