A few suggestions

Postby N111YX » Fri Jun 03, 2011 9:51 am

I look forward to a discussion forum that allows pictures! This is great.

I would suggest seperating the Sonex and Waiex forums. We Waiex types are unique and like to have our own unique discussions at times...

It would be great to see a forums for...
-special/long trips
-first flights
-building "problems"
-introductions

In following with Kip's ideas, perhaps a few other forums:

- Sonex General Discussions/News
- In progress and/or completed aircraft pictures
- electrical section

This is great stuff!

Good Idea. I'll add a general discussion area. I posted a "sticky" thread for building status pictures yesterday under each individual model forum. Is that what you are looking for with your second suggestion?

Do you all think the first flights should be included in each of the model specific area or a separate forum?

Chris, all of the first flights should be in a seperate forum in my opinion. As it's one of the best bit's of news to hear overall, to have it all documented in one place seems best so it's easily accessible... :D

I've added several forums and threads to go along with the suggestions plus a few more. If any of you have any feedback on those please let me know.

A Bold/Italic Toolbar would be useful, along with an [ IMG] url [ /IMG] shortcut

I think it would be a good idea to change the subtitle under the General Discussion forum to read something along the lines of "Discuss anything related to aviation not dealing specifically with the Sonex family of airplanes here". It is frustrating when there are two places to post something, ie do i post my builders tip in general, or under the Sonex forum?

Also, it would be good to include an "Off Topic" forum to allow people a good place to post their favorite joke/political rant without cluttering up the main focus of the board.

I agree that the general discussion should be re-worded, however I'm not sure that "not dealing specifically with the sonex family of airplanes" is the goal of the general discussion area. There are lots of things that can be useful to all sonex family aircraft including builders tips. If it is sonex specific then it would go in the sonex forum. If it is Onex specific, then it would go in the onex forum. If it is of benefit to multiple airframes in the sonex family then I dont see a problem with it going in general discussion.

I like the Off topic forum idea. I'll add that while I think about the wording of the General Discussion forum. Thanks for the input.

I'd like some more opinions on the General Discussion forum...what does everyone else think?
