Re: Automotive type headlight circuit breaker after master c

I view the contactor as the circuit protection. Pilot smells smoke and turns off the master. Rather than using a master, I have a battery disconnect as described on page 2 and 3 of this thread:

Re: Cotton Waiex 191 - N191YX

Thanks guys! Hope we have a strong turnout for the Sonex brotherhood in 2018. Not sure if we have any sisters in the ranks, time will tell. One other detail in that last picture: see the Gnu vises? It is clamping an angle to the rear wing mount angle. There is a small piece of angle (hovercraft moto...

Re: Cotton Waiex 191 - N191YX

We made a little tool to mark our holes in the bow. It centers the bit, and sets up the entry to be perpendicular to the windshield. https://s1.postimg.org/3cl5ba6i6n/hole_centering_tool.jpg Next we went to the drill press and V block to run the holes through. https://s1.postimg.org/646yxis1vj/drill...

Re: Trimming the wing fairings?

There is the "Thx Bob" picture on my thread. Or, you can go to the source and go to Bob Meyers's website, http://n982sx.com. I think it was a picture in an email I sent you too. There are two rows of rivets, and due to the miracle of CNC holes they are exactly a half inch apart. So, you ma...

Re: Drill bits to drill main spar attach holes.

Kevin, Covered on page 78 of my thread: http://www.sonexbuilders.net/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=578&start=770 You will need either the chrome or Firefox photobucket fix add on to see the pics. I'll send you an email too. I essentially used the idea you proposed, but went up to .3725" in sever...

Re: Cotton Waiex 191 - N191YX

Thanks Ryan! We may end up doing that as well. I used a stick with an angle cut in the end to back up the lexan, while Adam drilled. https://s1.postimg.org/4w385tll1b/stick.jpg One side clecoed in: https://s1.postimg.org/1n449630vj/clecoed_windscreen.jpg It seems like it would be easier to drill the...

Re: Cotton Waiex 191 - N191YX

We trimmed and did the initial drilling on the windshield. So far, so good. https://s1.postimg.org/7nf74lsein/cutting_lexan.jpg Clecoed in. We used a ratchet strap to get it snug. https://s1.postimg.org/7rbkghjmkv/clecoed_lexan.jpg We still need to get the sides bent down more. Matthew and I also di...
