Re: MGL RDAC RPM connection to Jabiru 3300

Hello Everyone, My apologies for digging up an old thread, but I continue to have issues getting a reliable tach reading from my Jabiru 3300 and MGL XF RDAC. I’ve talked to Michigan Avionics and Jabiru USA and get the same answer…good luck! Ultimately it seems like there are 3 ways to get a tach rea...

Re: New Onex Progress

I’m glad to hear Phase 1 is going well for you Scott! That’s great to hear. As you install the autopilot servo’s, I’ll be curious of your thoughts on installation and setup. I don’t recall a mounting system for the MGL’s into a Sonex/Onex so if you don’t mind, let us know what you did. That’s a futu...

Re: insurance roundtable

I don’t believe liability only has been as much of an issue, but others can hopefully chime in with more info. As far as I’ve heard the hull coverage has been challenging to obtain in general, and nearly impossible without time in type.

Re: insurance roundtable

Unfortunately you won’t know unless you ask Peter, but with the reports I’m hearing, underwriters are apparently much more restrictive when it comes to similar time in type. So ask and hope but don’t be surprised if they say no.

Good luck!

Re: Duckworks Aviation in business?

I just installed the LED landing light kit made for the Sonex wing from http://www.freshaero.com and so far I’m happy with them! I haven’t made an attempt to fly at night but others have told me during dusk hours, the lights are easily visible from 3-5 miles away. It’s a very similar setup to Duckwo...

Re: Please comment on 2 planes that I am considering to buy

There’s no right or wrong answer Tom. Which do you like more? Both have the potential to be good airplanes, so you probably want to let your heart decide!

You’ll have tons of small pro’s and con’s for each option, so go with the one that speaks to you!

Re: MGL Xtreme Transponder Controls

Thank you Bill. I was able to trace down two issues, one I claim is my fault and one not entirely. Your idea was right on…I found a blown fuse in my fuse block that turned out to be the transponder fuse. I also found some wiring that had been labeled incorrectly which caused a problem as well. That’...

Re: MGL Xtreme Transponder Controls

Scott, I think those settings are needed for the iExplorer and other large screen MGL EFIS’s. I don’t think the Xtreme has that capability. To activate the transponder on my Xtreme at least, it was go into the transponder page on the main menu and activate it. I see that I can go into the altimeter ...

Re: MGL Xtreme Transponder Controls

Thanks Scott! Yeah I’ve checked those connections multiple times and all seems in order.

I’ve looked many times and the TX on one side goes to RX on the other.

I’ll keep checking things over. Thank you!
