Re: When to Rivet Forward Floor?

Hi Andy, I riveted mine in place when the plans called for it because you won't be able to rivet the carry through in place, and then later the aft seat and lower assemblies in place until the floor is on. Looking back now I'd say go ahead and rivet the forward floor in place but like you said, leav...

Re: Xenos First Flight Video

Thanks for posting the video. Speaking as someone who has yet to fly a taildragger, I'm a little surprised by the bouncing that he had on all the landings ( last one was better). If someone would be willing to correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a primary goal to keep the stick back for the landing a...

Re: Microair M760 Intercom

If I recall, I believe that Tony Spicer had one in his Sonex and in his video he mentioned that the radio itself is great but the intercom is not voice activated. You need to have a switch for it, and when you want it on flip the switch, and then off flip it again. I put a FlightLine radio in my pla...

Re: SNX-W21-01R Wing Rib #9 question

From what I remember, centering the clips is fine but I seem to recall that there's a difference of the clips in left vs. right wings based on the direction of the wing rib flanges. I remember trying to make things easy by making the clips, drilling them to #40, and then not messing with them until ...

Re: Waiex Tail Service Bulletin.. WTF!

Have you attached your tail yet? If not, it should be easy to add the needed parts. If the tail is on but the bottom not on yet it shouldn't be too bad. But yeah, it's a pain. We've been told that the stock tail is more than likely sufficient in terms of strength, but better safe than sorry.

Re: Satisfaction in building

That's awesome Robbie! For what it's worth, I'm also under the same "disease" (insanity?) in that I've really had fun on my build. That's neat to hear about your families Sonerai... I also know what that's like as I grew up with a fiberglass airplane kit being built in my garage. I think f...

Re: Wing kit hardware question page SNX-W21 subpart -12

I think I got mine from Wicks but if you have a good hardware store around give it a shot. I've found a lot of that kind of stuff in the gray hardware bins at Ace hardware... As long as it's the correct size and material you should be fine.

Re: Waiex Build Status and Completion Photos

Hi Robbie,

I have a FlightLine FL-760 Comm radio and a FlightCom 403LSA intercom, both bought at Aircraft Spruce.

I'll hopefully give you a review of them soon, but so far so good. Both are very light, don't take much power, and were pretty inexpensive ;)

Re: Waiex Build Status and Completion Photos

Well, I didn't get as much done this weekend as I was hoping, but was able to hit one more small milestone.

Here's a preview:
