Do you have a picture of your overfill catch?
Thanks

It probably looks a lot like the one in the "Waiex 191 fuel catch and drain" video I posted on page 1. I copied what others had done.

Re: The inevitable fuel spill disaster

If you are building an aluminum tank you can make a filler neck like the A model, and the stainless box that goes around it. We generally read the fuel level on the ground and add a specific amount of gallons, rather than watching. Two up, we can't take full fuel. It also works if you want to go ful...

Re: The inevitable fuel spill disaster

The Onex looks similar to the Sonex-B design. I had shown an Australian builder what we did on the A model for a catch can, and he came up with a similar concept for the B model. Watch from about 2:50 below. [youtu_be:1vh0ufdd]https://youtu.be/md3G0LHvvnA[/youtu_be:1vh0ufdd] Perhaps a catch can like...

Re: When to polish?

Definitely easier and faster to polish flat sheets. When solidly supported on a flat table, more pressure can safely be applied and that speeds up the polishing with the first two and most difficult grades of polish. The warning about not using too much pressure is mostly about not causing ribs and...

Looking for original Cheng Shin tires

Hey all,
For anybody who went with different/bigger tires and have your originals on the shelf, I'd like to buy them. Shoot me a PM.

Thanks!

Re: pitot and static location

Is the static "port" just vented into the cockpit? Yes. I have my mode C encoder and my MFD tied together, and have a restrictor where it vents to the cabin. Now i wonder if I should install it on the vertical stabilizer. I think it looks cool on the Waiex. Might look weird on a conventio...

Re: pitot and static location

Our altitude seems off from what ATC says we are at. That could be an issue with our MFD. I'm not sure. I think we used 1/4" OD nylaflow tubing from Spruce. We chose the tail mounted pitot for 3 reasons: 1) I thought Kip's setup looked cool 2) I thought the pitot probe under the wing could be p...

Re: pitot and static location

So...8 years later, any issues with the pitot tube on the tail? I am considering this because I like that it is up off the ground, but it seems like it could be an eye poker, especially for kids. I like my tail mounted pitot probe. I'm not sure I have great static pressure in the cabin though. At f...
