Re: Cotton Waiex 191 - N191YX

Thanks for the comments guys! Here Adam is drilling the left square tube for the #8 flush screws that hold the hook angle. https://s7.postimg.org/pxpgbdenf/drill_left_canopy_frame_for_hook_angle.jpg Next I've clamped the right side hinge in place. https://s7.postimg.org/ihq6pmw3v/ready_to_drill_to_l...

Re: Picture of the day in GA News

Who were the pilots? Ken and Lorraine fly the B17 as a husband and wife team and are my neighbors.

Re: Cotton Waiex 191 - N191YX

I think we have all our initial trimming done. https://s7.postimg.org/u1mqsvj3f/right_side_canopy.jpg It is starting to look like an airplane. https://s7.postimg.org/tc3ygkfzv/left_quarter_canopy_view.jpg We left the aft part of the windscreen untrimmed at the bottom. Looks like we have avoided the ...

Re: Winter weight oil suitable for AeroVee non turbo

When I lived in NY I was in a club that had a 1967 Arrow. We used to plug up the cowl, throw a blanket over it, and hang a trouble light with an old tech 100W bulb underneath through the cowl exit. It made a difference! Light bulbs are pretty safe.

Re: Newbie with tail kit question

I don't disagree with Peter, but I'll confess I drilled rather than reamed the holes for all my AN3 bolts. On the other hand, reaming is the only way to go for the main spar holes. All in my opinion of course. Welcome to the gang!

Re: Rudder/tailwheel steering lickage

I bought mine from Peter without rod ends so I could use my own. Have not installed it yet but I like it.

Re: Cotton Waiex 191 - N191YX

Back to the canopy. We were paused for a few weeks - family visits at Thanksgiving, plus Adam's latest science Olympiad project. He has made a mousetrap powered car which has to go forward 3 meters, then back some specified distance between 4 and 7 meters. I have pics but postimage is not working to...

Re: On a quest for the elusive "Dry AeroVee"

Mine is totally dry! Of course I have yet to run it, or even put oil in it.
