Re: Rocker arm assembly mounting stud problem

Art Tiller wrote:I am going to heat up the studs on the old head, double nut the threads and see if I can get them out.

Art,
Don't heat the studs. Heat the aluminum boss they screw into. You want the aluminum to expand and not the stud - makes the fit looser. They will probably come right out using the double nut.

Re: Rocker arm assembly mounting stud problem

Art,
I'd check with Sonex. But a couple questions come to mind:
1) Can you remove your old studs and will they fit in your new heads?
2) Is it just the shims that won't fit on the studs? Do the rocker shaft mounts fit on the new studs?

Re: Install a new panel on Onex

If you are a member of EAA you can get free access to Solidworks. It's awesome. I took a class at our local community college to learn how to use it, which is highly recommended. I've also used FreeCAD and it's ok. My son uses fusion, which is great if you are heading to a CNC router to make the par...

Re: #30 vs. #31

I drilled all of mine up to #30 on purpose. They seem fine to me.

Re: Cotton AeroVee 0795

I'd be curious how the EGTs would be if I removed the center divider in the Aeroconversions manifold. Turn it into one big plenum. Also begs the question - is my better performance due to swoopy manifolds or even EGTs? The forward cylinders are not running overly rich anymore.
