Re: SNX-F08 seat pan stick holes in right spot?

Mike, This is engineers week. It has to be to the 128th of an inch. You don't need a 128th ruler Kevin - 1/64 will do. Then you can estimate. Actually I thought it was funny they called out 29/64" and then I had to take an inch out. It is like they looked at the throw only on the front side of ...

Re: W14 flush riveting

I bought a prebuilt spar, but I have set lots of rivets. To set countersink depth when the rivet goes into an extrusion, practice on scrap. Set your countersink depth, insert a rivet, and check for flushness with your finger. You don't need the micrometer. When you are countersinking for a dimple, d...

Re: SNX-F08 seat pan stick holes in right spot?

Kevin,
If I measure correctly my holes are 8 and 87/128" long. I did not open the holes at the front, just the back.

Re: SNX-F08 seat pan stick holes in right spot?

That's too easy. I recommend doing a perfect job to print while it is easy and then hacking later. You can't break tradition!

On the other hand if you can wait I will measure what I did.

Re: Cruising the neighborhood

Another hand propping video. Weather is spectacular. The L4 sneaking by in the background is owned by Adam's instructor.

Re: Fuel Tank flow Test

Mike,
If you time the gallon drain time in seconds, divide seconds by 3600 to get gallons per hour.

Re: Panel Images

Looks good Darick! What big tasks are left? Besides pulling/disassembling the engine so you can get that paint off the case, of course.

Re: Waiex-B Tail Kit Tools

There was one guy who built his Sonex with a hand pop riveter. One of my heros, but I've forgotten who it was. Ok, back to the drill debate...

Re: Waiex-B Tail Kit Tools

Hey Lucas, This is where we generally debate air vs cordless drills! http://www.sonexbuilders.net/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2606 You can get started with a minimum of tools: a drill, something to pull rivets with, and a flat table you can drill into. Plus files and snips. As far as clecoes, you need ...
