Re: KOSH pancake breakfast 4-20-24

It was windy. Not too windy though. Got pancakes, one more stamp, and an aviation attraction in our passport books.

Re: 3300 lapping heads

Is there anything bad about lapping the heads? At the very least you would see if both surfaces look to be true.

Re: Greetings from Central Arkansas

We asked Sonex to send our plans ahead of the kit. They obliged, there was some fee for shipping.

Re: Cowling issues

My pins are stock, no issues. Before I started flying, I used to wipe down my pins with silicone lubricant. For some reason I don't need to do that anymore. If you have an AeroVee you will discover why. I do the right cowl first. I hang the cowl by getting the outboard 1/4 turn fastener in its hole....

Do you have a picture of your overfill catch?
Thanks

It probably looks a lot like the one in the "Waiex 191 fuel catch and drain" video I posted on page 1. I copied what others had done.

We generally read the fuel level on the ground and add a specific amount of gallons, rather than watching. Two up, we can't take full fuel. It also works if you want to go ful...

Re: The inevitable fuel spill disaster

The Onex looks similar to the Sonex-B design. I had shown an Australian builder what we did on the A model for a catch can, and he came up with a similar concept for the B model. Watch from about 2:50 below. [youtu_be:1vh0ufdd]https://youtu.be/md3G0LHvvnA[/youtu_be:1vh0ufdd] Perhaps a catch can like...
