Re: Location of headset jacks/plugs

Re: AeroV replacement

I have to say that It would be a real kick to build up an AeroV as a winter project. Where I end up I will have lots of knowledge to tap into. I am looking forward to getting to know the local EAA chapter. It certainly would be! If you want to see my original build, you can start here. My rebuild i...

Re: AeroV replacement

Hi, Art: I built my AeroVee 7.5 years ago and it's still going strong after 500+ hours. It's not a difficult thing to do, and there is nothing like knowing the engine inside and out. 5 years ago I had a prop strike. I took the engine apart in 2 evenings, replaced the crank and bearings, and put it b...

Re: Heat exchanger muff project

HI Guys, Assuming you don't blast the sump, and ignoring the fact that my valve covers are hanging out in the wind, with the oil cooler cabin heat solution 100% of the thermal energy being extracted from the oil passes through the cockpit. Now, just like with the heat muff solution, it's a matter o...

Re: Heat exchanger muff project

Hi Mike, When you think of the heater core in your car, what do you think of? Maybe a nice heat exchanger with 160 to 230 Deg. F. liquid flowing through it? Sounds a lot like the Oil Cooler most of us carry around on our airplanes all the time. Here is how I did it. That's cheating! Just kidding......

Re: Heat exchanger muff project

Wes,

If you seem to have the magic bullet I'd love to see pictures of your setup! You're the only person I've seen success from, with empirical data to back it up.

Re: Fuel Flow Cube

I recently replaced my Gold Cube with a Red Cube. Not really any better readings using the published K-factor. So I've been dialing back the K-factor incrementally and measuring the results. Another couple of tweaks and it should be reading close to actual before/after fuel measurements. So if you'r...
