Re: Camp Sonex is open, OSH 19

Landed right around 9am, taxied across the bridge, talked to the marshals about reserving the row up against the ditch for Sonexes. Told him there might be a Zenith, too. Fly safe! See you all soon. JF The conditions kept the Zenith Phoenix from crossing the moat to Camp Sonex. The only reason Gary...

Toe Brakes. Next batch

So, I've been pressured to make another run of toe brakes. The next series is even better than the last so all you first gen toe brakers will want these. (with my B model conversion, I've improved them significantly.) Works for that A model too. Cost will be $250/set. Includes only the toe brake wel...

I've been vinyl wrapping the stuff as I complete it. it really helps motivation, to see the final product. It might not be smart as I already will have to go back and touch up stuff, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Re: Taking Delivery...

Over 100 people (mainly kids) got to sit in her and "fly" her. And two other builders - who I didn't even know were local - came over to say hello. Cherry on top - we won the "Farthest to Fly In" prize! (Well duh!). Certificate, polishing chamois and a 6 pack of the local microb...

Re: Cracked canopy

Did the canopy on the Super Bee today. The weather was very warm, 90+. The canopy felt rubbery compared to my old A-model. I used a Harbor Freight oscillating tool with a cutting blade. With little force, it basically melts a cut. Worked like charm. No fear of cracking. Located and drilled the holes...

Re: B-Model conversion

John, Thanks for posting the video of the swingback canopy. I'm curious why you didn't use the slide lock plates from the A version. I am in the middle of installing the swingback on my Xenos A project. Just finishing up a mechanism I came up with for a keyed camloc on the exterior for locking it c...

Re: Cracked canopy

Had some requests on how i did my canopy on my swingback with no cracks. Here's a video on what I intend on the B-model Did you use any sealant in the channel to hold canopy in the slot? Thanx billy I did use RTV on the A-model. I don't think I'll use anything on the B-model. Just don't think its n...

For those of you considering a swing back canopy on your B-model, here's a video on the issues I faced. It can and will be done.
