Re: What do I look for when buying used.

I would avoid the 170. Thats a plane for someone who just loves the model and not someone who wants a cheap commuter. I would love to find a 140 with a big engine, but my budget for such a toy isn't there. Also, insurance on a taildragger will be much much higher so go with a trike like the Cherokee...

Re: Brake pedal production run

Update. I've procured the raw materials and started the production run. I've got lots of late orders and will build enough for everyone. I'd be closer but my HF step drills just gave up and I was creating more smoke than shavings! Keep in mind, I'll ship these raw steel and you will need to figure o...

Re: Moving to CO (7k+ elevation); what to do with OneX?

Gary Motley flys his naturally aspirated VW Sonex solo out of KBJC just fine. You need to connect with him. Your Onex will be fine since it should be a bit lighter. Put the UL power 130 on it, and it will be a rocket! And don't write off the turbo. It has some growing pains but I've flown behind it ...

Re: Brake pedal production run

I mis-spoke, I am wondering where people have mounted the reservoir when installing the dual hydraulic MC-4's? Terry I have no idea. The Hegars we use don't have reservoirs which requires we bleed more often. But I'm sure if you use a master with one, you'll figure out a good solution. I now have o...

Re: BasicMed

I too have completed the BasicMed requirements today without a hitch. I saw a new primary doctor today for the first time and he said he would be happy to sign the form. He asked if I wanted to defer the "anus" exam as he thought was not needed. I told him to go ahead and do it as I did n...

Tail wheel tow dolly

So we got a big spring blizzard this weekend and I had some time. I live at an airpark and its more convenient to tow the plane to the runway and since the taxi ways are gravel, better for my prop. I came up with this solution. Its a garden wagon from Amazon for $60. Cut a hole for the tail wheel to...

Re: BasicMed

Bob,
do you have to be current to get the transition training? I know you can't act as PIC without your medical, but your instructor/transition guy can if he's current.
