Re: B-Model conversion

I’m very cramped in my fuselage because if the lowered seat. I felt much more comfortable in the Legacy model. I did appreciate however the added firewall area for installing all the goodies for the UL engine. Leroy, Curious if the above statement is accurately typed. Do you find the B-model more c...

Re: B-Model conversion

Interested in what changes to the wing rigging. The Model A bolts go through the vertical supports. Since these move outboard? Is there some gusset or other flange to keep the same holes?

B-Model conversion

Everyone got the Sonex email about discounts for the B-model conversions, 10% off. Looking at the price, it might be something I want to do, under $10k. And I really like the look of the B. Has anyone converted a flying legacy model to it yet? Can you do most of the fabrication while still flying yo...

Re: Sonex VS Waiex!

I agree with Mike. I have the conventional tail, but have flown John Gillis’s wayex also. I think his is faster ( maybe the speed cowl) Handling is identical to me Mike Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk You were definitely cooler flying my plane and I was less cool flying your's. When Mike and I c...

Re: AirVenture 2018

What is the best day to arrive at Airventure? I am planning on Sunday. Is there a space issue at homebuilt camping by Sunday? Last year Mike and I came in and were told camping was full on ATIS, we came in on Monday afternoon right before shutdown for the show. But further listening to the ATIS sai...

Re: 3 Point Attitude...

I tested a really slow 3 point landing last weekend (Gary Motley style). I have a lift reserve indicator and was flying just at the stall on approach, around 40 MPH, full flaps. Gary is the master of this. Sink was significant and I was adding power to make the threshold. The plane felt very spongy ...

Re: ADS-B, where is your head?

I live just outside the Denver veil, but I also sometimes fly into KAPA to work on nice days. And Gary is on the other side, so either take the great circle route or fly right through it.

ADS-B, where is your head?

As the deadline approaches, how is everyone approaching it? Go with certified solution? Go with experimental solution, (integrated xPonder)? Go with a solution that will leverage your Mode C xPonder? Avoid Mode C veil airspace and above 10,000 MSL? Some of us early adopters have gotten burned (NavWo...
