Re: B-Model conversion

Wings have been rigged. Thanks to Paul Vetter for coming down from Gillette WY to assist and keep me from making stupid mistakes. The laser level failed, so went Roman with a water level. Worked great. I will say, rigging the wings while the fuse is on saw horses and the firewall removed is much eas...

Re: B-Model conversion

IMG_1668.jpg Update.... Off with the old, on with the new. I've had to pull back the vinyl to make clean rivet/bolt attachments. I'll probably pull the entire wrap off, strip the paint (which I should have done anyways), and re-wrap. Going to attack the wings next. John - Given how far you've gotte...

Re: B-Model Conversion Plans?

Hi Everyone, I'm about to be the owner of an a-model kit that has been completed through the rear fuse and am wondering if one could do the b conversion by using a mixture of Sonex made parts and builder fabricated parts. I figure I could save a few thousand going this route. Do the plans enable a ...

Re: Swing Back Canopy

There may be a B model swing back canopy. Haven’t gotten to that point but keeping it in mind. I really liked it on my A model.

Re: B Model Fuel Quantity

Using ethanol fuel with a Princeton probe will require to you buy an new Princeton probe and stop using ethanol fuel. It will corrode quickly, and with a few tanks of MOGAS fuel. I've experienced this myself and watched it happen on another plane. FYI, I also experimented with a fuel probe from Beli...

Re: MAP sensor location on Jab 3300

Am finally getting to the end of my conversion from a turbo aerovee to a new CAMit3300 with a Bing. Since I have a manifold pressure sender I figured I might as well hook it up on the new engine. Any thoughts on where I should tap into the induction system to obtain the most accurate reading? I am ...

I got the heater you mentioned. I noticed the sump has a rough texture from the casting. Do I need to sand it down smoother? or just make sure it is clean and seal the edge with silicone?
Mark

Degrease the sump, stick it on and seal the edges.

Re: Taildragging Conversion

Hello All, I introduced myself in a previous post, I have an almost completed tricycle gear Sonex I want to convert to a taildragger. I have searched the forum, but not found exactly what I want, so I'll ask. Looking at the plans, it appears that this is relatively simple. The bottom aft fuselage i...

Re: EZ HEAT ?

Thanks John, it is not quite as high wattage rated as the EZ HEAT, but it is less than 1/2 as much! Just ordered one. Did you place it on the side of the oil pan or the rear, in front of the intake plenum? Mark Right side, pilot view. You will see when where you get it, on the side. Clean the sump ...
